  • So Saturday night Rachel came back to town to spend a fun filled evening with me attempting to get me drunk. Sun was my 21st birthday and we decided it would be safer all around to go out at midnight on Saturday instead. She came down to watch the play, and her review of it was and I quote “ I really had to stop myself from jumping out of my chair and slapping Richard.” And “Al is so cute for a red-neck.” Soo….in other words Wes did a spifferific job and well, Brad is cute, which we all new.

So anywho – after the play we came back to my room so I could check her in for the night and then change out of my Techie blacks. I got a dozen red roses from her and they are now keeping my lone white carnation company in the penis cup, doubling as a vase now. She also finished my Gryffindor hat (see the bottom of this entry for pic ) and I got a green margarita glass and some self-heating body scrub that smells like margaritas too. That’ll be nice for use after practices with sore muscles. Missy got me a cake. Somehow along the lines – she had to hear/read one of my speals about how I never get a cake for my b-day. Oddly, my cousin Sandy happened to be over at my house after work on Saturday too when I stopped home to get a new pair of contacts and she had my birthday present for me, which was the Bourne Supremacy.

Well, back to Rachel’s and my escapades. When we pulled into the dorm parking lot the first time, Rachel ended up putting the car in a whole (for more details see her entry in her journal). Then while I was opening gifts, changing, and talking to Missy for a while about her adventures with boyfriend and family, Rachel ended up talking to Faith for a while. By the time we left for the bar it was 11pm. We got down to the Rock Bottom Brewery (only having made 1 wrong turn, I always forget Wells is a one-way street), we parked in a parking structure for M&I bank employees I always use when down in this area, and then walked a block to the restaurant. The kitchen was basically closed so we got nachos and some bread and cheese dip which was yummy. The waitress walked over to us and asked us what we would like to drink and I looked at my watch and was like “Well, I’ll take a cola for the next 20 minutes,” which caused Rachel to roll her eyes and the waitress to laugh. I proceeded to count down the minutes. Midnight rolls around, and Rachel orders me a shot (slippery nipple- tasted like mint cough syrup) and I ordered a Red Raccoon beer. The waitress brings it over a few minutes later, my beet complete with a birthday candle on it. I laughed for about 20 minutes I think. And then I couldn’t drink my shot cause Rachel kept making me crack up again. We spend the rest of the evening talking about the usual sex and boys.

We came back to school, crashed in my room. I woke up about 8-ish to the sound of cookies calling to me. I didn’t open them cause I didn’t want to wake Rachel up (nor share them just yet) so I suffered for w bit. We watched a movie, talked, and had fun for a while then I kicked her out cause I had to get to the play.  The play went well, strike was quick. I spent most of the time picking up the screws, nails and bolts with a magnetic rollie thing, but I did get to use a power tool and climb around on a ladder for a while.  Then I went back to my room for some quality time with Faith on the computer and watched the Oscars. I still haven’t done much with the family, and that’s probably not going to occur until the second weekend in March seeing as both the parental units and I are not going to be in state this coming weekend. (mum and dad go to Baton Rouge, Louisiana and I’m going to Findlandia University, Upper Michigan).

I was supposed to be going to lunch today with my boss, but something came up so we’re going out next Wednesday instead which is nice too. Martha got me a really really nice set of sterling silver hoops. I totally wasn’t expecting anything from the ladies here. It’s so nice they give me stuff. Gotta love them.

I just read one of my other friend journals and she had her sister at school for the weekend. Apparently one of the guys Missy hangs out with (Phil) slapped another guy on the bum and the fact that Phil did this seemed to bug her sister royally. She seemingly thought that his actions made him bi – and that seemed to bother her a lot. Seriously, just because somebody slaps someone’s bum doesn’t make them bi or gay or anything like that. I guess Phil made a comment to Missy about me (theoretically)smacking her bum – and how that would be ok. I’m not sure where or why he brought me into the situation when Missy talked to him about the event. I know Missy knows I’m bi, and it doesn’t seem to bother her. I wonder if it really does and she just doesn’t tell me. I also can’t help but wonder if she’s told anyone that I am. I’m ok with people knowing. I just don’t think that the whole school needs to know my sexual preference, considering I don’t know close to half of them. Hell, I only think one person on the softball team knows I’m bi and that would be Panyk.  I mean I don’t think she’s told anyone, but Phil’s comment makes me wonder- I also know nosey a-whole Dan also knows, he talked me into a corner about it and it came out ( I wasn’t going to tell him cause I know he really hates people that are gay, and I’m sure that hatred runs over into bi-sexuality as well). So is he the one spreading my business around? And do I seriously care if people know? – bah – mostly just don’t want people in my business that don’t have a right to be in my business.

  • So I went to bed super early last night, mostly due to the fact that I have been reading the adventures of Huckleberry Finn only to be followed by my women in lit. homework which was reading 93 pages of Their Eyes Were Watching God. Both books are written in a southern, reconstruction dialect and that are super difficult to read at my normal “homework reading speed” therefore, while I finished Huck Finn’s readings, I only got about 50 pages of Watching God done before my mind couldn't take it anylonger. That means I have to finish reading the rest tonight bahhh…

Sleeping itself was a chore. Had a nightmare for the first time since I was in 4th grade, and it unnerved me so badly I can’t get it out of my head. It consisted of me walking into the room where two people I know where having sex and suddenly the room collapsed around me leaving me in a black whole were the only thing was the two people on the bed. The guy gave me this triumphant look and then both of them started laughing maliciously at me and continued on with their business, leaving me standing there lost.

I woke up crying from the dream and then proceeded to sit and stare out my bedroom window for 30 minutes before I could even attempt to lie down again and sleep, where I had a more normal crazy Krel-like dream which consisted of me running around with the girl from my nightmare trying to outwit some moron- I think I ended up in the desert at one point and a place that looked a lot like Dagoba minus Yoda.

I spent the morning here at work tying ribbons to bags of candy, which was actually quiet fun. It took my mind off of last night at least. I’ve started a new story with Faith which I think has real potential if we decide to take a chance and send it in to a publisher. I think I still might have to persuade her a little, but basically we’ve decided to see how things go after a few more chapters. Right now, we’ve just finished the first one.

I started softball practice – or should I say torture. My muscle have finally stopped screaming for the most part and yet we start up again tomorrow. Soooo much fun. But the team is looking good. I think I surprised a few people with how much I seemed to have improved over the summer, which is ironic since I caught again and didn’t play outfield like I had wanted to. ::shrugs:: anywho- I’m not really sure how good my chances of playing outfield are yet. We’ve got a lot of new outfielders and a ton of new pitchers. I don’t know who’s all playing infield besides the girls that played there last year. I think I’m going to have to wait to find out about my chances ‘til we get outside.

  • I'm not really into poetry and I definately don't consider myself a poet in any sense of the word. I can admire poetry for what it is and what it means to others and as for myself, being a writer, I have great respect for those who write it. With that said, the following poem was something that my muse smacked me over the head with a fish to produce today durring American Lit. I get blessed occationally I guess you can say. I appologize that it's not all that great.

    Between Sleep and Awakeness

    I lie awake,

    one thought, one face

    on my mind.

    One name escaping my lips

    unknowingly form the echoes

    of my mind.

    Rolling over,

I imagine how it was being there awake

    while you lay engulfed

    in a place

    where I can never go

    or know.

    I roll back, eyes open

    starring blankly at the ceiling.

One can never help but wonder.
